Weight and height: Chloe is about 18 lbs and Will is about 17 lbs. They're getting heavy! They're both about 27ish inches.
Sleeping patterns: Will has slept through the night a few times! Chloe is still sleeping through the night, although we had a few nights where she woke up. They both like to sleep on their tummies with their faces smashed into their mattresses. They barely have their heads turned and it totally freaks me out!
They both are napping during the day, but are taking shorter naps since they're getting used to daycare noise again. They're back to barely making it to their 6:00 bedtime, which means I get very little time with them.

Eating habits: They have had carrots, sweet potatoes, sweet peas, butternut squash, bananas, watermelon, and avocados. We've tried to give them the sweet potato puffs, but neither of them like the texture. Will does a really good job picking them up though!
Worked started back up on Monday and since I don't make quite enough breastmilk to feed them without supplementing, we stopped sending milk to daycare. They have formula there and apparently they like to fight the bottle; it seems like Will does more than Chloe based on the reports, but Chloe fought the formula more at home. Five more months of pumping and formula supplementing left!
Earlier today I was skimming through our staff handbook and read the part on lactation breaks. Technically I'm only supposed to pump for 15-20 minutes, but I can take as many breaks as I need, and this is only until the babies are one year old. Who actually empties in that short of a time?! Even when I was direct nursing and I'd pump after, it still took 30 minutes. The World Health Organization says that children should be breastfed until two years of age. There's such a push now that breastmilk is best in our country, but I feel like no one in actuality supports a mother in providing milk for that long, unless that mother is either a stay at home mom or a work at home mom. I'm blessed that my children are thriving and will be okay without breastmilk after one (or any time really), but what if they weren't? Ugh. Okay, off my soapbox and on to cute baby pics.

New discoveries they've made: I love watching them discover how to use new toys (aka Dom's old toys), or how to use their old toys in new ways. They are very interested in what the other one has, and they've gotten into a few baby squabbles as they steal toys from each other. Chloe's favorite thing to do is jump like crazy in the bouncer. Will loves to explore anything and everything and gets a little mad when we take things away from him. He especially loves exploring Dom's toys and has scratched himself a few times with the bucket part of Dom's Hotwheels digger.

Accomplishments: They are rolling all over, pushing themselves up, and getting on their knees (so close to crawling!). Chloe has army crawled a few times, but she prefers to scoot along on her back, using her legs to push her back. Will has started to clap toys together and is working on his pincer grasp. Both of them are getting stronger and are able to stand while holding the table. They both like to dance too. I love watching them wiggle-dance!

Places they went: Basically daycare and the doc since I decided to redecorate and paint one of our rooms to make it into a family room/play room. Brian took all the kids to his parents' house to get the babies away from the nasty smelling primer.
Special friends they've made: They are starting the stranger danger stage so they haven't made any new friends. Will wants so bad to get in on the action when he watches Dom and Brian rough house. He stands there and watches them like a hawk, and leans toward them like, "Play with me!" While Will wants in on the rough housing, Chloe just wants to be cuddled. She gives me kisses when I say "kiss". Really they are open mouth slobbers, but I'll take it.

Noises and babbles: Guess who said "Mama" for their first words?! I was so excited and I had Dom there to witness it! Chloe said it as we were playing, and Will said it later in the day when I was leaving the room. Actually he didn't say it; he yelled/cried it because he wanted me to pick him up. YESSSS! (Brian keeps saying I made it up, but Dom totally vouched for me.)
Chloe quickly learned how to sign "milk" and we've been able to get her some milk before she has to cry. Baby sign language is the best.
Both of them babble like crazy and like to make raspberry noises. Will likes to make this little coughing noise to get attention on him.

Both of them said "Mama" for their first word. I think Chloe also says "Dada" and "mi" for milk.

This picture sums up our summer together. I miss it already, and I feel so blessed that I got to spend that time with them. I'm already looking forward to our next break together!
