34 Weeks

How far along?  34 weeks. I'm getting huge.
Baby Craun's size:  He's the size of a durian. From what I've learned from Andrew Zimmerman on whatever channel he's on, they stink. Wonder if they smell like poopy diapers?
Total weight gain/loss:  15.5 lbs gained total
Maternity clothes:  Yes, although I bought a shirt at Kohls last week in the normal people sizes and it was only a medium. I got really excited!
Stretch marks?  No
Sleep:  Same as before. I got the okay to sleep on my back with a pillow wedged under me but the pressure from D's weight ends up hurting my back. So if I rotate between sleeping on my side and sleeping on my back then I wake up with a little pain in my hips and back instead of a lot of pain in one area. My mom said to sleep on a recliner...we don't own one! I propped myself up on pillows to sleep in a recliner-like position last night so hopefully that continues to be comfortable.
Movement:  Lots. He must be pretty bored in there!
Symptoms:  Right foot swells part of the way through the day still and it's hard to get a deep breath.
Labor signs?  No.
Food cravings:  Nothing really. There's no room for food and I'm just kinda like blah with food right now.
Miss anything?  Sleep
Belly button in or out?  No change from last week.
Wedding rings on or off?  Off because I swell up by the end of the day. But I'm still able to comfortably wear my wedding band. Glad I didn't get them soldered together!
Nursery progress:  We got a lot done over the weekend! Pics are up above the crib, the mobile is hung, and I finished the lampshade. Mom is working on the cushion and pillows for the bench and Dad is coming over this week to fill the holes so we can paint over those and hang the last two pictures.

The view from the door. The pins on the bullentin board are mustaches! Thought you'd get to see his name, right? :)

Close up of the mobile Brian, Mom, and I made on Christmas Eve. What a pain to hang up!

Just waiting for the cushion. The baskets were a steal from Michaels - only $10 a piece!

I covered the lampshade in green polka dot fabric and trimmed it with matching ribbon. The D hook is from Anthropologie and spray painted red to match the matting on the pics that will go above the changing table.

Another view of the crib wall.
Best moment this week:  Obviously taking maternity pictures with Bess (see previous posts). I'm so happy with how they turned out, and I already printed out some to have around the house and in his room.
Weekly wisdom:  Men could NEVER have babies. Just because I don't complain, it doesn't mean I don't feel like crap or that I'm not uncomfortable or in pain. I'm sure other women are the same way. A man would complain all the time!
Looking forward to:  Seeing Sarah this weekend. She's coming back to Iowa for her bridal shower and I can't wait to spend time with her!

Here are some more pics with some editing. I'm going to be so sad when Picnik closes their site!

Maternity Pictures with Bessie Love

Words can't even describe how happy I am with how they turned out. I'm excited to play on Picnik with them tomorrow! Here are a few of my favorites, unedited (although I don't think I'll need to do much editing!):

This was after we realized Brian had been spacing out thinking that Bess was just taking test shots. There are about 5 pics before this of him looking off into space. :D

Hopefully my idea works with this one...

33 Weeks

This is what 7:30 am looks like on spring break when Brian forgot to wake me up...
How far along?  33 weeks
Baby Craun's size:  He's the size of a honeydew melon. Yum!
Total weight gain/loss:  14.5 total. I'm putting on 1-1.5 lbs per week now just like I'm supposed to.
Maternity clothes:  Yep. And I'm wearing Bri's red cut-off tank to sleep now because all my tanks are too small. I look awesome. It almost made an appearance in the picture but I couldn't do that to myself.
Stretch marks?  Nope.
Sleep:  Good until about 3-4ish. Then my hips are KILLING me.
Movement:  Lots. He seems to be hanging out on the right side of my belly and gets some pretty good jabs into my ribs. Minus the rib jabbing, it's so cool to feel him move.
Symptoms:  Swelling more at the end of the day when it was warmer. My hips are hurting something fierce now.
Labor signs?  Not this week.
Food cravings:  Doritos tacos. That's all I've been wanting since I tried it yesterday!
Miss anything?  St. Patrick's Day and spring break really made me miss drinking because that's what I've usually done during this time.
Belly button in or out?  The very top part is starting to poke out just a bit, but the bottom part is still in. It looks weird.
Wedding rings on or off?  Mostly on, unless I forget or it's really warm.
Nursery progress:  Crib skirt is now on. Brian and I are almost done with the wooden name thing, and then we'll hang all the art above the crib. We'll probably finish that tonight (pictures next time!).
Best moment this week:  Spring break! I'm getting so much done! Plus I get pampering - lunch with Mom and massage this afternoon.
Weekly wisdom:  I was working on the photobook for last year and came across Brinley's newborn pics. I remember watching her while Jen was in the bathtub, and thinking about how crazy it is that Brian and I were going to start trying for our own baby a few months later. Hard to believe that D is going to be here within the next 7ish weeks - 49 days!
Looking forward to:  Maternity pics with Bess tomorrow (share those when we're done with editing)!

32 Weeks

How far along?  32 weeks
Baby Craun's size:  A big squash. He should be about 3 lbs and 16ish inches long
Total weight gain/loss: 13.5 lbs total. I'm surprised it wasn't more after this weekend!

Maternity clothes:  Yep
Stretch marks?  Nope
Sleep:  No real change from last week.
Movement:  Lots. He likes to move around.
Symptoms:  Continued heartburn and difficulty breathing if I try to move around too fast. And I have finally started swelling - but typically only my right foot/ankle. It's not freakish but I can definitely notice it. Shoes are still fitting though!
Labor signs?  Increased Braxton Hicks.
Food cravings:  Loving fruit/sweets right now.
Miss anything?  Running. It's gorgeous outside and this is usually the time of year when I get the motivation to run again. I'm feeling so out of shape (not like I was really that in shape before though) and I'm jealous of those runners I drive by.
Belly button in or out?  Holding steady at the almost ready to pop out stage.
Wedding rings on or off?  On
Nursery progress:  Lots done! All the bedding and clothes we got at the shower this weekend have been cleaned and put in place. His closet is now organized! We have quite the stock of 0-3 month clothes and a few things to get us through future months. I also have the hospital bag and diaper bag mostly packed. We used gift cards to purchase the curtains and rug, so those are in place. The cats really love the rug. The crib skirt is on it's way from Amazon. Now we just need to get Dad (aka Grandpa Carlson) to fill the massive holes left behind by the shelf we discarded and Mom (aka Grandma Carlson) to make the cushion for the window seat (that's the fabric laying across it in the photo above), then we can hang all the art and be done!
Best moment this week:  This last weekend was awesome! We celebrated my last birthday of my 20s at Cosi Cucina. Brian told me it was just going to be us, but surprised me with my parents and friends. I love surprises! Meg got me my favorite cupcakes from Carefree Patisserie - red velvet ones and lemon velvet ones. My friends give some great birthday gifts! On my birthday, Friday, I worked a half day and celebrated with a mani and pedi, and then hung out at my parents with my family and my cousin, aunt, and grandma. Then Saturday was my shower, and I was blown away by all the work Mom and Jen put into it. The food was all inspired by what the caterpillar ate in the book, and every inch of that room was decorated. It looked amazing and I had so much fun! Everyone was super generous and I feel so blessed to have you all in my life! Here are a few pictures:
I wanted to save this tissue caterpillar so bad but there was nowhere to put it.

Mom and Jen made all the decorations! (I tried to put the green topiary in D's room but Marbs and Coco decided to tear it apart.) My favorite food was the ice cream cone cupcakes, followed by all the fruit.

One game included guests cutting string to the length she thought would fit around my belly. Apparently everyone but 3 people think that I'm a huge toad, because most people had really really long pieces of string!

Thank you Mom and Jen for the wonderful shower, and thank you everyone for the great gifts!

Weekly Wisdom:  I need to start taking it easy and stop pushing myself so much. I'm so used to the fast pace, and there are only a few weeks left with so much to do. But taking care of myself and Baby D is more important!
Looking forward to:  Spring break next week - I'll feel better when I have time to cross more off the to do list and time to relax in the same day.

31 Weeks

How far along?  31 weeks. This last week has flown by. Freaking out that he'll be here before we know it!
Baby Craun's size:  A pineapple. Whoa, that's big!
Total weight gain/loss:  11.5 pounds total
Maternity clothes:  Yep. Found some cute tops at Anthropologie last weekend that fit my belly!
Stretch marks?  No
Sleep:  I wake up to go to the bathroom every 3 hours or so, but sleeping well despite that.
Movement:  Lots. At my appointment the other day he was moving around so much that she couldn't get his heart rate because she'd find the heart beat, then he'd roll around.
Symptoms:  My feet swell by the end of the day, and I noticed that my center of gravity is way off. I'm super clutzy now! Oh, and I'm hot all the time!
Labor signs?  Nope
Food cravings:  Sugar! But is this any different from normal life? I've also been eating tons of cereal.
Miss anything?  Breathing normal on some days. He's starting to hog the real estate that my organs normally claim.
Belly button in or out?  The top part is going to pop out soon. Ew.
Wedding rings on or off?  On
Nursery progress:  No updates here.
Best moment this week:  I love Anthropologie. And Whole Foods. Bess, Lauren, and I had a nice little shopping trip this last weekend, and I found a few shirts, a pretty lace hoodie, and a super cute jacket that fit my pregnant body plus some yummy snacks to fill my cravings!
Weekly wisdom:  An April birth = more diamonds for me. My doctor reminded me (and D) of this the other day, and wanted Bri to know that my wedding ring doesn't count. Love my doctor!
Looking forward to:  My shower!
